Swingin' Stocks - Introduction

Let me start by saying that I'm a novice at this.  I'm not someone you should rely upon for financial advice or for specific stock picks.  I am NOT a seasoned stock analyst, and I may miss key parts of a full analysis of an analysis of a company's stock.  Anyone who trades a stock I post in any of my watch lists does so at their own risk.  That said, I have a couple of rules of my own:

1) I will never "PUMP" a stock.
2) I will never take compensation to promote any specific company or its securities.
3) I will likely recommend one or a few services that I feel are professional and worthy of support.
4) I will try to balance my watch list with what I see as risks to the trade.
5) Eventually I plan to develop a more formal format to my watch list and will include regular relevant data as I hone my skills.

I am an engineer and any post here represents the product of my own novice price analysis.  There may be details I will miss about companies that could easily affect the price-performance of their traded securities.  SO, with that said, if you like my blog then use it for entertainment purposes and feel free to track my methods and my watch lists and see what you think.  Suggestions are welcome.

Anyone trading or investing in stocks needs to do his or her own homework and is responsible to make a trade plan for his or her own trade(s).

The point of this blog is to log my progress as I paper-trade stock picks and track their performance.  I may play some of my picks for real, but for now my primary objective is to evaluate my method of picking stocks before they go up.

I will have a number of  posts that trace my logic in how I pick my companies for swing trades.  I'm looking to hone a particular style of trade I'm calling a Weekly Swing Trade.  Some of these may be good for longer runs, but I will loo

I will post my watch lists here for weekly swing trades over the weekend and then track their daily performance over the week.  Eventually, I hope to find patterns and behaviors of not only price movement, but volume and other indicators so that I will be finding the best of stocks to swing while I still focus on my day job as an engineer.

The reason for my paper-trading (not using real money) is because I need to hone my skills at finding stocks that are worth 5+ days of swing and I hope to make roughly 5-10% on each trade.

I will eventually seek to develop a method for overnight trades whereby I will be picking a stock before the market closes and then selling in the morning or at least some time the following day for that same 5-10% gain.  That has to come later though.

So, enjoy!
